The universe works in mysterious and delightful ways. I was just considering buying a bicycle because the car died, the new car is slow in arriving, and I’m currently renting PhillyCarShare cars. By the way, if you live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and you want a car for short hops to places, check out PhillyCarShare. It’s quite a deal, and you can rent cars for an hour to 24 hours. The hybrid I’m driving has room for two bikes in the back which put me in mind of investing in one.

I was considering getting a bike for rides back from the car share pods (pods are where you park the cars). I didn’t really want a X-speed bike where you ahve to get one of those spandex getups, cool sunglasses and stylish (aka expensive) bike helmets. I was standing in Kmart (aka the Less Expensive) store in te bike section, trying to make up my mind which cruiser I’d invest in. I’ve never been really good at riding a bike, and have always had the most luck on those big wheel jobs that look like their from decades ago. For some reason, all taht extra rubber, wide seat and one speed to figure out, has always equated to my staying upright and alive during the ride.

With all of that said, here comes, XYZ Cruiser Bikes, with those nifty, simple, two-wheelers that are easy to peddle, even easier to figure out and a breeze to balance on, all at a reasonable price. Their advertising is cool, their site has lots of pictures and their website navigation is like their bike — easy. It states in the beginning, you don’t have to live at the beach to ride beach cruiser bikes. And, at 88 bucks for the bike, you won’t go bankrupt trying to get one either.

This bicycle is brand new and sold in the box. Bicycle comes about 80% assembled. It takes about 15 minutes to assemble your brand new bicycle. They do recommend that you spring to have a professional assemble it for you which I think is sensible. They ship by FedEx, so you can get it quick, and away you’ll go.

So, there you have it. I think I’m going to go for the teal/blue model which will be a nice contrast to my new iPod. Music while you cruise. What could be better!
