Planning For Next Year’s Vacation

When you think of all the ski resorts in the world one of them stands out in your mind. Aspen offers a variety of ski areas for all levels and it covers 4,500 acres or more spread over four mountains.

This resort is known for its nightlife because of the downtown area and the quieter Snow mass resort area has something to offer everyone.

We were thinking about going with a vacation rental property and while we like Colorado, we were thinking about Lake Tahoe vacation rentals this time around when ski season hits. It’s really a toss up, though. We really liked our trip to Aspen.

Aspen provides all the restaurants and bars you could ever want or need You can take a stroll through this luxurious city and find many boutiques
and much more. We saw some really nice places to stay as well besides the ski resort like Mad Creek Bed and Breakfast which is a small Victorian B&B nestled in the Rocky Mountains about 35 miles west of Denver and some places for family fun where you could rent condos that looked lovely via the Internet.

There is a lot of history in many of the buildings that are in the downtown area. One of these buildings is the Ute bank; this building can be dated back to the silver area around the 1800’s.

So, it’s a real toss up on where to go this year on vacation.

I also found this site for vacation rentals via one of the paid per post posting which fit right into our planning for this coming year with all kinds of vacation rentals and ways to get them inexpensively. So we figured we’d plan ahead and write a quick post on Jambuzz, too. What I liked about them is that they are actually Vacation packages listed by owners and not by some large conglomerate. We’ve found that dealing with average people, you get a better deal and a nicer stay in the long run, so this paid sponsorship advertisement fit right in.

iBackup: Online Storage Backup That’s Easy

I work on my blogs both at home and at work during lunch. I’m always downloading the latest tune, creating a cool Powerpoint and putting together a vid or two. Sometimes I’m hit with a bit of inspiration on cats, writing, travel, et. al. and I’ll write about it. Up until now, I’ve been using a series of Flash USB storage devices which have been more or less successful. I used to drag around discs, then burned CDs, now Flash drives. The only problem I’ve had with it is that sometimes I misplace them, being the highly organized (NOT) writer that I am. LOL! The idea of having an online storage device that maps to my desktop on both my home and work computer sounds like a really good answer to the missing flash drive problem.

Enter iBackup Online Storagewho offers just that plus a whole lot more. iBackup provides online storage in the form of a drag-and-drop folder that resides on your desktop. I can write something up, create a Powerpoint presentation, upload and download a spreadsheet and keep things neat and tidy right there on my desktop. It provides a familiar explorer interface (ie. there’s a folder on my desktop), so it’s not a terribly high learning curve involved. It’s also inexpensive and upgradable, so you don’t have to start by selling your car for one month’s rental. The site talks about a performance difference that is very significant and that IBackup’s desktop applications outperform the rest by a factor of at least 30-50%. While this is important to the big guns, I jsut like the idea of being able to drop my music video into a folder and find it in that folder when I get home. For me, that’s significant.

A Quick Look at Paintball

We are all about having fun, cool music and sports with a twist, so when we saw this post about playing paintball, we checked around to see what it was all about.

Like any sport, paintball is played by a group of participants out to eliminate opponents by hitting them with paint balls (spherical gelatin capsules containing primarily polyethylene glycol, other non-toxic and water-soluble substances, and dye) shot from a compressed-gas-powered gun, commonly called a marker. Spyder paintball guns are among the more popular sport weapon allowing the opponent both ease of use taking into account weight considerations.

The typical game usually involves two opposing teams with specific objectives like, retrieving a flag or taking out a specific player. It’s a combination of hide-and-seek and guerilla strategy combined. An average, non-professional game of paintball usually lasts around five minutes to half an hour although some can last longer and it can be pretty intense.

The rules vary from game to game and can be played either indoors or outdoors. There are various types with some of the most popular being woodsball, scenario and speedball.

Some of the better equipment available is Spyder paintball guns including the Spyder VS3 and the Spyder Pilot using a Spyder paintball. There is also good paintball gear by Tippmann, Smart Parts, Dye, Draxxus plus many more brands.

Well, that about covers our look into paintball. One thing about adding sponsored advertising to your blog comes in the form of all of the interesting things one can find out researching diverse products. Paintball was no exception and a fun topic to look at.

Some Quick Pay Per Post Tips For Success

1. If you’re posting to a blog using WordPress (Like I am), do not put the post as a page. I don’t care how long it is. If you don’t want the whole thing on your front page, use the MORE and it will work just fine. The requirement is to get it into your Archives and if it’s a page, it never Archives, it just sits there.

2. Avoid being rejected by PPP due to lack of words
Look at the word count. The advertiser is paying for you to say something. Some don’t want much, just 50 words. I do try to give them more than that. 50 words is barely a sneeze and if your a blogger worth their salt, you can scratch up more to say. Visit the site your writing about. If they’re willing to pay you five bucks or more, they deserve some of your attention. Don’t just write from the copy they give you.

3. Avoid being rejected by PPP due to posting one behind the other

The minimum you can post a sponsored post on your blog is one-to-one which means that you have to have another non-sponsored post in between.

3. Follow the rules
Now, I’m not big on reading manuals or Terms of Service and I will tell you that PPP’s rules are a bit small and light for me. Yes, that is my one complaint. I am near-sighted and they look like they’re using 8 point type. However, if you miss something, they do give you another chance to get it right which is nice.

4. Sponsored by PPP, Sponsored Box – The Grey Box
Get that Sponsored Box, sponsored text in there correctly. It is important to keep things legal. You want your readers informed as to why they are reading something strange on your otherwise non-strange blog. Now if you’re just ranting and raving on anything (I have a blog for that. Doesn’t everybody), the public might not notice. However, you still need to tell them. I don’t really know why, as I haven’t completely read the manual yet, but I like this outfit so I may take time to cut and paste it into Word and increase the point size. Well, enough grousing on that.

5. Include the link text from the advertiser in your post
I’m pretty good about that although from point to point I have forgotten in my excitement over this process. Again, they give you another chance to make things right, so there you are.

6. Read the rejection email
Believe it or not, I really think they want you to succeed at this and are not some giant, no-name, faceless corporation with no heart. What I mean is, don’t get angry and give up. They clearly spell out what you need to do to make the post useable. That’s why I like them. Every one I’ve submitted has been rejected and I’ve fixed them according to what the problems were and then it went through. I think that’s why I really didn’t think this was a scam constantly rejecting you until you get so frustrated you just give up and leave.

That’s all I’ve learned so far in terms of PPP. I’ll be back with more tips as I learn more.

The PayPerPost Revolution Accelerates, Sponsored Blogging Marketplace Secures $7 Million Series B

Well, when I was originally asked to blog on this, I wasn’t sure what they wanted besides putting the press release out there. Upon further investigation, I found they wanted a bit more which is great. I got into Pay Per Post by accident stumbling across it on somebody else’s site and following it to the source. Boy, was I glad. I was looking for a way to pay for my blog hosting, and getting paid to blog seemed a good way because I’m blogging about something all the time anyway.

While I like the idea of getting paid to post, I would like to get advertisers in the music industry more interested in my little JAMBUZZ blog, which is where the PayPerPost Direct idea comes into play.

I like blogging and I don’t necessarily like the business aspects: scam control, getting paid and how it’s done, chasing money after blogging on something and the like. The idea of a middleman worked for me, but other companies charge a HUGE percentage for their services.

The idea of going on the Internet to advertise on blogs allowing blog posts to sell a product or service is not only unique, but a large step ahead of many other ideas to get the word out for advertisers. I saw their vision and apparently PPP already has 6500+ advertisers onboard who “get it” as well along with God only knows how many happy bloggers posting away.
