Gareth Gates’ Comeback

From FemaleFirst.co.uk comes this info about Gareth Gates making his phenomenal comeback in music. He has an exclusive interview here.

Now I must admit that I wasn’t a fan of Gareth Gates, but

Following the success of his top 15 hit Changes, Gareth Gates is well and truly back on the music scene.

On June 18th he releases his second single Angel On My Shoulder, which is Gareths personal favourite on his forthcoming album Pictures Of The Other Side.

After notching up over 3 million record sales in under two years, Gareth spent 3 years out of the public eye, devoting his time to writing and recording his new material, and also concentrating on improving his speech after working with and for The McGuire Programme.

The latest single campaign saw him achieve many of his personal career goals, including an array of live TV pieces and a particularly great, honest interview on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, from which he garnered a lot of praise and new fans.

Angel On My Shoulder is a very moving and poignant track, and one that everyone can relate to in some way.

Some of Mr. Gates favorites are as follows:

He can be found over at the hot music boards like Cool Charity, BuzzJack and Digital Spy.

His unofficial fan clubs are pretty neat, too. If you are looking for like-minded folks, surf on over to WholelotofGareth or SugarBoxGirl. Sugar has downloads and news.

If you’re into back stuff, look at what Hazel has to offer with charts and such.

And let’s not forget the ever popular and always present Myspace offering. Every music group is on Myspace and Gareth is no exception. Find him here: Gareth on Myspace

Lastly, if you want to hear and see Gareth in concert, here’s a YouTube for ya!

Top 100 Songs Countdown

according to Eric_Mack on his Lens

Here’s what he had to say about music of today and why he went with music from yesterday….

As you undoubtedly know, music today (for the most part) sucks. This stems from the fact that music hasn’t progressed at all since the Beatles. How do I know this? Because when I was 15 I heard the Beatles’ 1 CD, consisting of music made four decades ago, for the first time and absolutely loved it. Their music is entirely listenable because it isn’t really different than the music I was used to. It was just better.

#100: “Ohio” by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

Released as a single in 1970

More than anything else, I love what this song is about: the Kent State University shootings on May 4, 1970. The Kent State students were protesting America’s invasion of Cambodia and the Vietnam War in general when the Ohio National Guard shot four students and wounded nine others.

Tin soldiers and Nixon’s coming
We’re finally on our own
This summer I hear the drumming
Four dead in Ohio

Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are cutting us down
Should have been done long ago
What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know?Check out his lens here.
